EE.UU. – La Banda Oriental de Cherokees recibe autorización para comprar Caesars Southern Indiana

By - 20 agosto 2021

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has been given the green light by the Indiana Gaming Commission to buy Caesars Southern Indiana casino, via its ECBI Holdings offshoot.

The deal was first announced in December 2020 and will cost EBCI $250m. Caesars was forced to sell the casino following its combination with Eldorado Resorts with the Indiana Gaming Commission saying it didn’t want one operator to operate five Indiana casinos.

R. Scott Barber, CEO of ECBI Holdings, said: “We are delighted to move forward with Caesars and expand our already successful portfolio. Not only is it a beautiful, recently renovated property, but Caesars is also a storied brand in the southern Indiana community. We’re honoured to carry on that legacy as we continue to elevate Caesars’ world-class guest experience.”

The Caesars’ branding will remain on completion of the deal. Caesars Southern Indiana offers 100,000 square feet of gaming space, a sports betting lounge, and several restaurants. Other amenities include a hotel, a pavilion, a showroom, two parking decks, and a golf course. The casino counts with nearly 1,200 slots including video reels and traditional slot machines; also table games including blackjack, roulette, craps, mini baccarat
