Curazao – GLI da la bienvenida a casi 90 asistentes a la Mesa Redonda de Curazao

Gaming and lottery regulators and government lottery representatives from all over Latin America and the Caribbean gathered together in Curacao to participate in Gaming Laboratories International’s unique Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable.
GLI Director, Latin America and Caribbean Government Relations and Business Development Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes said, “We have no words to express our gratitude to all the government representatives that joined us in our first Roundtable celebrated in the Caribbean.
Government lotteries and gaming and lottery regulators from more than 36 entities and two associations (ALEA and CIBELAE) from 22 countries from the Caribbean and Latin American region decided to participate in this unique event.
“GLI dedica importantes esfuerzos todos los años para organizar esta conferencia, con el objeto de superar las expectativas de los asistentes,” dijo Sierra-Hughes. “Agradecemos a los reguladores y las loterías que participaron como oradores, compartiendo con sus colegas sus experiencias y amplios conocimientos que difieren de un país a otro ya que la realidad de cada una de nuestras jurisdicciones exigen diferentes estrategias regulatorias. Estamos muy agradecidos con el Sr. Gino Campbell, Director Ejecutivo de la Junta de Control de Juego de Curazao y su equipo, quienes junto a nosotros trabajaron para lograr el éxito de la mesa redonda. Esta Mesa Redonda no solo tuvo éxito en términos de contenido y asistencia, sino también por la camaradería entre los asistentes que esperamos continúe como una de las repercusiones positivas del evento. El apoyo del Sr. Campbell desde el punto de vista organizacional, la hospitalidad de su equipo y la cálida bienvenida a los representantes de los gobiernos que asistieron a la conferencia, serán recordados y atesorados en los años venideros.”
La Mesa Redonda de Reguladores de Latinoamérica y el Caribe de GLI continúa creciendo y con más éxito cada año. En esta edición, el evento contó con casi 90 asistentes quienes representaron los siguientes países: Argentina, Aruba, Belize, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Curazao, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Trinidad y Tobago, Islas Turks and Caicos, Uruguay y las Islas Vírgenes.
El evento gratuito de dos días, dió a los asistentes la oportunidad de no solo asistir y participar en debates de alto nivel de interés para la región de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, sino también conversar con profesionales líderes de la industria y hacer preguntas a los expertos acerca de la industria. Como parte del programa, los reguladores participantes a la mesa redonda se trasladaron a un casino local para presenciar una demostración en vivo del proceso de verificación del sistema de monitoreo y control, cortesía de la Junta de Control de Juego de Curazao.
Curacao Gaming Control Board Executive Director Gino Campbell said: “We are extremely proud to have been the host regulator of the first Caribbean edition of GLI University’s Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable 2016. I can only express myself in superlatives. Close to a hundred participants from 24 countries that fell in love with our beautiful island added up to a very special experience. This time around, the quality of the presentations was exceptionally high with many relevant topics and lively exchanges of knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of intra-regulatory relationship building and networking that spawned out of this event, underlining my firm belief that only together can we make each other better. As an organization, the Curacao Gaming Control Board has grown because of this. We offer a heartfelt thank you to GLI for honoring Curacao with this prestigious event.”
La Mesa Redonda de Reguladores concluyó con un cóctel, proporcionando a los asistentes la oportunidad exclusiva de establecer contacto con otros profesionales y tratar los temas presentados en el evento educativo.
Peru’s General Director of the General Direction of Casino Games and Slot Machines Manuel Antonio San Román Benavente said: “Each Regulators Roundtable organized by GLI exceeds the previous one. You are able to notice this in all details of the event – the topics and the opportunity that it provides us to meet and create relationships with our counterparts, among many other things. These are strengths that GLI gains as years pass. The big winners are all of the regulators who have the great opportunity to participate and strengthen the friendship and fraternity with other regulators and the organizing team. We return to our countries full of new experiences and grateful for the good times that are much appreciated.”
Director Nacional de Loterías y Quinielas, Uruguay y Sr. Luis Alberto Gama Hernández, Director Nacional de Loterías y Quinielas de la República Oriental de Uruguay y, Presidente de la Corporación Iberoamericana de Loterías y Apuestas de Estado (CIBELAE) dijo, “Considero que el evento ha sido de suma importancia para nuestras loterías y hubo mucho acierto en los temas tratados y en los expositores escogidos. No en vano es la novena mesa redonda de reguladores, y con mayor éxito cada año. Como regulador el balance es muy bueno y totalmente positivo. Celebro la realización de este tipo de eventos porque prestigian a toda la industria.”
El equipo de Latinoamérica y el Caribe de GLI se está preparando para su próximo gran evento – Global Gaming Expo (G2E) a celebrarse en Septiembre. G2E se lleva a cabo a finales de septiembre en Las Vegas.
